Memento is a head-spinning movie about Leonard, an ex-insurance investigator who suffers from anterograde amnesia (a condition in which you can no longer store new memories) and who tries to find out who murdered his wife. The movie starts at the last scene and then goes back in time. Therefore, you as a viewer know as little as Leonard himself. Leonard tries to cope with his condition by writing facts on polaroids which he shoots of everything that he encounters together with tattooing the most important things on his body. As the movie continues, you, and Leonard collect bits and pieces that start to clear up the picture about who might have killed his wife. The narrative closely follows the story of Sammy Jankins, who is mentioned multiple times by Leonard himself. However, what these two men have in common is a question kept unanswered until the end of the movie, and is something I will leave up to you to discover!
